At the Center, I have a class of kids who are unable to regulate their body temperatures; therefore, they need to be in a classroom that is kept warm so that their temps don't drop too low. I also have a class out on the Wing. The kids who come to this class need to be closely monitored by the respiratory and/or nursing staff due to their being on ventilators. Finally, I work with kids who are unable to leave their beds/rooms due to their fragile medical status. These kids are, for the most part, vent dependent. All of the kids I work with at the Center are Multiply Disabled as well as Medical Fragile. Each have their own unique ways of learning, and of responding to various stimuli. Our program is designed to enable the students to use their various senses to aid them in gaining knowledge of their environment.
